Terms of Use

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms govern your access to ShyAI, including its Android app, services, characters, conversations, and related features. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Standards.

You must be at least 18 years old. ShyAI is not directed to children. Registration requires you to attest that you are 18 or older. We do not ask for your date of birth in the v1 service.

2. Your account

Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law says otherwise.

Do not share, sell, automate, or transfer account access in a way that bypasses age, identity, quota, moderation, or security controls. We may require re-authentication for sensitive actions such as changing credentials, exporting data, or deleting an account.

3. What ShyAI provides

ShyAI provides private text conversations with fictional AI characters, public character discovery, character creation and review, reporting and blocking tools, and account privacy controls. Features, models, quotas, and availability may change as the service develops.

AI output is generated probabilistically. It can be inaccurate, inconsistent, incomplete, or upsetting. Treat it as fictional entertainment, not professional, medical, legal, financial, emergency, or factual advice. Do not rely on a character to contact emergency services or act in the real world.

4. Your content and characters

You keep any rights you already hold in text and media you submit. You give ShyAI a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, format, transmit, moderate, display, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and enforce the service and to meet legal duties. This license ends when the content is deleted, subject to limited legal, safety, audit, and backup exceptions described in the Privacy Policy.

You must have permission to submit the content. Do not violate another person’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights. Public characters remain unavailable until they pass the required AI and human review.

5. Acceptable use

Follow the Community Standards. The adult-only gate does not permit prohibited content. You may not use ShyAI to harm, threaten, exploit, defraud, impersonate, harass, expose private data, enable serious wrongdoing, distribute malware, scrape the service, or evade moderation, quota, age, identity, reporting, or security controls.

Do not probe or disrupt infrastructure except through an authorized security disclosure process. Do not use generated text as evidence that a real person said or did something.

6. Moderation and enforcement

Automated systems check character content, media, reports, and chat input and output. Human reviewers decide public publication, reports, appeals, and durable enforcement actions. Private chat is not routinely shown to human reviewers, but the minimum necessary content may be reviewed after a report or appeal, during a narrowly authorized safety investigation, or when law requires it.

Depending on severity and context, we may block content, quarantine a character, restrict a feature, remove public content, suspend an account, or terminate access. We may act immediately where needed to protect users, the service, or comply with law. Where available, you may appeal through the app or the support address below.

7. Quota and advertising

The v1 service uses a free reply quota and may show low-interruption Google AdMob placements outside chat, authentication, legal, account-deletion, character-creation, and safety flows. Personalized advertising is requested only after the required affirmative consent. Refusing or withdrawing consent does not remove access to core account or safety tools.

Quotas and ad availability can vary and do not guarantee a particular number, quality, or response time of AI replies. Ads never authorize an advertiser to receive your prompt or conversation text as targeting context.

8. ShyAI materials

ShyAI and its licensors retain rights in the app, service, software, branding, interfaces, and service-created materials. Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. No right is granted to copy, resell, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.

9. Availability and third parties

ShyAI depends on networks and third-party services for hosting, databases, storage, email, moderation, AI generation, app distribution, and ads. Interruptions, maintenance, model changes, moderation delays, or provider failures can make features unavailable. We may change, pause, or discontinue a feature while protecting rights already provided by law.

10. Ending use

You may stop using ShyAI at any time and may delete your account through the app. If you cannot access it, use the external deletion instructions. We may suspend or end access for a material or repeated breach, safety risk, legal requirement, or threat to the service. Sections that by their nature must continue—such as ownership, lawful evidence retention, disclaimers, and liability limits—survive termination.

11. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, ShyAI is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that generated content will be accurate, suitable, uninterrupted, or error-free. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, ShyAI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss caused by relying on generated content. Any limit applies only as far as your local law allows and does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms to reflect service, safety, provider, or legal changes. The current version and effective date appear above. If an update materially changes the agreement, ShyAI will provide notice and request a new acceptance when required. Re-consent never blocks data export, account deletion, or safety reporting.
